Starting July 22, content creators under the age of 16 will no longer be allowed to live stream on YouTube alone. They will only be allowed to do so if they want to live stream with an adult who is visibly involved (co-hosted).

YouTube says the new rules will apply across all platforms, including Android, iOS and desktop, and are aimed at better protecting young users.

Creators under the age of 16 must have an adult in front of the camera when they go live, even if they have assigned an adult as an Editor, Manager, or Owner on their channel.

If anyone is found to be broadcasting live alone in violation of this policy, they could face disciplinary action, ranging from losing features like Live Chat to being banned from live streaming. YouTube has warned that repeated violations could result in the termination of the entire account.
