Redmi K80 Ultra is here to challenge flagships

It was a big day for Xiaomi and Redmi. They unveiled a ton of new products at their launch event in China. The most eye-catching of them all was their latest flagship killer, the Redmi K80 Ultra. The phone comes with a ton of specs, including the power of the Dimensity 9400+ chipset, a massive 7,410mAh battery, and 100W fast charging.

The Redmi K80 Ultra is a phone that sits between the K80 and K80 Pro and is primarily targeted at gamers.

Display

It features a 6.83-inch OLED screen with 1280p+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate that keeps things moving quickly in front of your eyes. The screen has a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, so you can see clearly even in sunlight. There’s also an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner embedded under the screen and a 20MP selfie camera on the front.

Performance

The Redmi K80 Ultra is powered by MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9400+ chipset, and you can choose from 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, so you can play any game or app with ease. The entire phone is IP68 water and dust resistant, and it runs Xiaomi HyperOS 2, which is based on the latest Android 15.

Camera and sound system

The rear camera setup focuses on a 50MP main camera, using the popular OV Light Fusion 800 sensor. It is also paired with an 8MP ultrawide camera.

Redmi has also made a major upgrade to the audio department, with a brand new dual speaker called AAC 1115 coaxial stereo speakers, along with an X-axis linear vibration motor that provides a great vibration experience while gaming.

Battery and charging system

The battery is a surprisingly large 7,410mAh silicon carbon battery that supports 100W fast charging. There’s also a bypass charging system for those who want to charge while gaming without directly draining the battery.

Price

The Redmi K80 Ultra will be available in four colors: Sandstone Gray, Moon Rock White, Spruce Green, and Ice Front Blue.

The 12GB/256GB model is priced at CNY 2,599 (about $362).

The 16GB/1TB model is priced at CNY 3,799 (about $530).
